Already away and forgot your baby monitor?

Check which devices are available: two iPhones, two iPads or one of each, running iOS or iPadOS 15 or later. The baby device needs to remain in the room throughout monitoring. Check internet access on both and download Luna on each device.

Choose the baby and parent roles, pair through the device list or the nine-digit code, then approve the request on the baby station. Test sound and alerts where you will actually use them. If you do not have a second compatible device or working internet, Luna is not a suitable replacement in that setting.

Get both devices ready before departure

Install Luna on both devices and complete a trial setup at home. This gives you time to check permissions, learn the baby and parent roles, and confirm that the spare device's microphone, camera and charging connection work. Bring the charging equipment you need for both stations.

Decide which device will stay near your baby and which one you will keep with you. If you expect to use mobile data, check the available allowance and any roaming conditions before travelling. Do not assume your destination will have usable Wi-Fi.

Treat a new room as a new setup

Find a stable position for the baby station, outside the cot and beyond your child's reach. Keep charging cables out of reach too. Check the camera view in the light you expect during use; a useful daytime angle may look different after curtains are closed.

Listen to the room before choosing the sensitivity. Fans, traffic or voices may create a different sound environment from home. Set up Luna for this room, then check what the parent station actually receives.

Check the connection after arrival

Connect each device to the internet and complete any guest Wi-Fi sign-in. Open Luna, connect the stations and test sound and live video from the place where you intend to stay. If you use mobile data, check reception there instead of relying on the signal you saw on arrival.

Keep the parent station with you and repeat the test after changing networks or moving the baby station. If monitoring stops working, attend to your child directly while you fix it. Luna is an aid for a supervised family routine, not a reason to leave your child unattended.

Complete the hotel Wi-Fi sign-in first

Open a web page on both devices and complete any hotel sign-in screen. Check again after an interruption. Mobile data may help if the Wi-Fi has no usable internet; not every hotel network supports every connection. Test Luna in the room and at your own location. A connection does not replace supervision nearby.
