Choose around the devices you can actually use

Decide which device will stay with your baby and which will be the parent station. An old iPad can be as relevant as a second iPhone. Check the operating system on both and whether the app can be installed. The parent device also needs to remain available during the session.

Luna uses two iPhones or iPads running iOS or iPadOS 15 or later. An iPhone paired with an Android phone is not a supported Luna setup. You do not need a separate Luna account to get started.

Decide how you want to listen and check the picture

Continuous listening, sound alerts and opening live video serve different needs. Decide which you want, then check how the app shows an active audio stream and its connection status. Make sure you can notice the alerts on your parent device.

Luna needs internet on both stations, through Wi-Fi or mobile data. It does not fit a requirement for monitoring without internet. For other apps, check their specific connection requirements rather than assuming that Wi-Fi support means offline operation.

Make your choice after trying the actual rooms

Test a sound near the baby device, the volume on the parent device and any camera view you need. Try your intended background use on the parent station, including locking its screen. Notice how the app indicates a lost connection.

Luna's free live listening is time-limited per session. Use the test to learn the controls and understand that limit before planning longer use.
